Kodak Petite - Folding 127 Film Camera - Step Pattern - RARE
The Petite folding camera was manufactured by Kodak from 1929-1932. This example is still in beautiful condition and features a “step pattern” on the top that is relatively rare compared to the standard model without the fancy decoration. The camera uses 127 film (not common but still available) and a take-up spool is included.
The “steps” are a dark purple - the camera is blue with black bellows and the case is purple with gold lining. (The case is missing the belt loop on the back.)
The Kodak Petite model is rather small and I used a silver dollar (not included) in one photo to demonstrate scale.
This camera is NOT “mint” but is one of the best examples I have seen. There are some minor cosmetic flaws visible in the auction images but nothing that detracts from the appearance. The purple color is gorgeous and appears more saturated and vibrant than typical Petite cameras.
The shutter works but keep in mind that it’s a rather primitive design. It looks/sounds like it’s fixed at approx. 1/30 sec. There is also a working T (Time) setting. Four aperture settings are available.
NOTE: In a dark room with a flashlight, the bellows appear to be light-tight and working properly. The camera has NOT been film-tested.
No returns are accepted so please review all the auction images and ask questions prior to bidding. Thanks!
